Ads Showing Inside Bullet Lists. Even with <li> removed from Paragraph Tags

Hey there!
Ezoic ads keep showing in between bullet point list items and I'd like to prevent that.

I've checked Ezoic plugin's settings (Ad Settings > Let’s Go > Gear Icon, Paragraph Tags) and made sure "li" is not there. (I even tried adding it, saving, and then removing it, and saving, to see if it would work. It didn't.)

But, even so, ads keep showing up inside listings.

What should I do now?

P.S.: Removing "p" also doesn't stop the ads from showing up in the page.

Hi again! Thanks for providing this link. I had a look at the site and did not see any ads generating in the bullet point list. I also checked on the placeholder configuration using the Ezoic Chrome extension and did not see any placeholders in the list. (screenshot attached)
In this case it may be that you have an older version of the site cached in your browser, which is causing you to still see the ad in the list even though you've set up the filter. Can you please try clearing your browser cache, and possibly clearing your site cache as well if you still see it, then check the site again to see if you're still getting the ad in the list? I think this should clear it up since I am not seeing it on my end. 🙂

Coley I cleared my browser's cache, Ezoic's cache, and CloudFlare's cache. Waited a few days just to be sure.

I even set the "Only include paragraphs with a word count greater than" option to 25.

Ads keep showing up inside bullet point lists, as you can see in the attached image.

These ad inserter restriction settings just seem to simply be ignored, no matter what.

I am also having this same issue on both of my sites. I've deleted the tag in the extension, cleared the cache both through ezoic and my WP dashboard, and still get the ads in the bulleted lists. I have even retyped part of the list it is affecting and still get the ads.

Any other ideas?

djw To remove the WordPress generated placeholders from showing in the table of contents area, go to your WordPress admin > Ezoic Plugin Settings > Ad Settings > Let's Go! > Gear Icon > Parent Filters; add a parent/insertion filter of id = "ez-toc-container"

Upon doing an entire cache clear URL parameter, I'm no longer seeing any ads showing in li divs. It is possible that the placeholders are stuck in other caching. Could you please clear cache at Ezoic and in all other caching systems active on the site?

JeanPierre Thanks Jean Pierre.

I cleared all caches I could think of: browser's, Ezoic's, CloudFlare's, and then checked my hosting provider (Cloudways) to see if they had any caching mechanism there. They did. And so I cleared Varnish's cache.

And, now, finally, ads are no longer showing up inside lists. ;-)

Heather, Thank you for your suggestion. I did check my settings and I do have that one in the filter already. It is in red so I don't know if that makes a difference. However, the issue I'm having at this point is ads in bulleted lists. I have cleared all the cache, chrome, ezoic, cloudways, cloudflare but still getting ads in the lists and also I have previously deleted the "il" in the tag area. Any other suggestions you can think of? Thank you.

djw Oh that is strange that this is still happening for you. Please can you share your wordpress plugin credentials and we can take a look at this for you? You can securely share credentials with our team by using the Credential Submission Modal. The modal can be found in your Ezoic Dashboard, under the account menu in the top right corner. Once you have the modal open, you'll need to fill out the form - all fields are required! Select the domain related to the credentials, enter a description of what the credentials are for copy and paste the URL where the credentials are used, and finally, enter the credentials. Then press submit!
