Hi,
I just happened to read this thread:
https://community.ezoic.com/d/13009-why-expand-to-show-full-article-appears-in-the-text
regarding new feature testing by Ezoic of a 'read more' for article pages.
I am quite concerned by this.
I understand the rati0onale of trying to increase revenue, and I am happy for Ezoic to be testing and improving ad placement etc., but I would consider this kind of experiment a significant change to a site design/operation.
This is the second time I've read about significant 'testing' simply in passing (ie by chance) from perusing the forum. My feedback would be that any kind of tests Ezoic wishes to roll out which cause a significant change
to the look, feel or operation of websites should be announced, with an option to participate or otherwise.
I realise this may slow down development and I wouldn't expect it for simple ad placement changes, but anything else, I think it's courtesy. Yes, we are using Ezoic to build traffic and revenue but ultimately we are still the content creators and site owners and should have control (or at very least knowledge) of how our sites may be manipulated by third parties.
At very least a page (private if needs be) where Ezoic can announce specific current testing strategies would be appreciated.
