How does Leap affect Awstats?

The ISP hosting my site has a builtin stats tool called Awstats. I really like it but I'm curious why it has any stats at all if Leap should be caching everything.

1) Does Leap somehow keep page stats looking normal and correctly reported? If so how (I'm just curious)?

2) Or, are all the stats I'm seeing just for site visits that are cache misses?

To me, it doesn't look like 2 could be the answer because the number are too high to just be the misses. So I'm really curious how all those stats values are there if Leap is caching everything.

Sclerek I don't have an exact answer but my understanding is that anything which uses external caching / CDN will affect local server statistics packages such as AWStats which relies on generating statistics from the log files.

As opposed to something like Google Analytics which uses JavaScript and is generally unaffected assuming the CDN doesn't alter the tracking JS.

You will still be getting hits to your server whenever caching cannot take place or the cache is being refreshed. Quite how much this is will depend, but my cache level is currently rarely higher than 80% at best so 20% of my visitors will still be getting the page directly from my server.
