Variant also negotiates after Cloudflare integration

Hi Team, I have two sites in my dashboard. One is working fine but the other one is not working. After Cloudflare integration it shows error "Variant Also Negotiates" status.

Here's my DNS records

CNAME www ssl.kajabi.com (we are using Kajabi)

the root domain has a page rule which redirects it to www, so we don't need for root domain.

It's strange that this is same for both domain, but error is only happening for this one. I had to revert back to kajabi CNAMES in Cloudflare, as we can't bear site downtime.

simplesheets Hello Heather here I hope you are well. The error message "Variant Also Negotiates" error means that a record is pointing to itself somewhere causing a loop. I would recommend as a next step updating the DNS records in your Ezoic dashboard so that they are correct and then once you have done that please let us know and we can then make checks on our side for you.

Heather Hi, I have updated DNS records for simpleslides, please check. I can't bear the downtime so, I have update the cloudflare with original DNS record instead of g.ezoic.net for WWW CNAME.

Hi there! I had a look at your DNS records and I noticed there were a lot of records on the Ezoic proxy that didn't really need to be on it, so I removed all but the necessary records to help minimize potential conflicts. But I am still seeing the Variant Also Negotiates error when checking the site both cached and uncached which indicates there is likely still something incorrect in the DNS records. The records at the Ezoic end need to match your host records to avoid these kinds of errors, can you double check that the records match? I am seeing a lot of shopify records in the DNS records in addition to Kajabi, are those correct? I don't believe Kajabi provides hosting services, is Cloudflare your host through Cloudflare Pages? If that is the case usually the www needs to be redirecting to a Cloudflare address so I'm thinking the conflict might be happening at that level.

Hi Coley, though my other site was working fine but this morning, the error was showing for that one too. I have to remove the integration because in last 3 days our both site went down for longer time which affects our business.

Answering to your questions, yes, I have checked all records. For our site to work, or be it any site, we only need root level DNS, and WWW DNS records. Those shopify one's are on other subdomain, it should not really interfere with root domain or WWW domain. I want ezoic for main domain only, not for other domains. Just by uusing ezoic cname records, it gets down after sometime. One of our other site was working fine for almost 24 hours, but that too went down today.

Kajabi doesn't share any IP address. They provide a CNAME record only that we were using. Either Ezoic is not compatible with Kajabi CMS or vice versa.

I'm not sure what to do, but can't experiment this on our main business sites 🥺

Please can you reach out to your host to get an updated copy of your DNS records and we can then re-review them and go from there. many thanks
