Very less traffic reported by Ezoic.

The total traffic reported by Ezoic for the date range is 949 pageviews, but the actual traffic as per GA4 is 4600.
I have disabled ads on mobile. So, if we exclude the mobile traffic then the total page views are 4011.

I have attached the screen shot for your reference. Let me know, why there is so few pages reported on Ezoic.

With the wordpress plugin there can be a number of other technologies that can be in front of Ezoic and prevent us from seeing all the pages that your readers go to on your site and so prevents us from placing the Ezoic version of your site to these readers. This leads to a different count between the two reporting tools for visits and means that you aren't able to earn as much revenue as you could be if all your readers were seeing ads on your site. many thanks

I have tried Cloudflare and nameserver integration in the past. And both the integrations, make my site very slow and leads to drastic traffic drops. So, switching integration is not an option.
If you can suggest some options that I can try out without switching the integration, it will be helpful.

Vionix Without switching there can be a difference between reporting as wp-plugin integration as Heather mentioned isn't as accurate.

Different caching on the site could be affecting reporting. You could try disabling your Cloudflare caching and any other caching you are using to see if that affects reporting.

Its also worth noting that when you are comparing Ezoic and GA you should look at Visits in Ezoic and Sessions in GA and these are comparable to each other. Are these also reporting high differences?

I added the placement code manually into the HTML, so that it will be cached with the website. The page views don not seem to improve.
I was digging more into this and found that the real time data in the analytics is reporting the right traffic. I have attached the screenshot as below.
The page views in the earnings report are around 75. But as per the real time report, my average traffic per hour is 30. Which is also matching with GA data. Looks like the problem is with Ezoic and not the website.

Why is there a huge difference between real time data and page views in earnings.

Vionix The real time reporting itself isn't accurate and is designed to give you an insight into what is happening on your site not data to compare too.

For your site you are currently wordpress integrated and this can mean that there can be plugins that prevent Ezoic from seeing the pages and so can't report the visits accurately.

You mentioned that when you switch to Cloudflare or namesevers that this makes your site very slow and leads to traffic drops. From what I have seen in other sites when this happens it is because of plugins within the site that are working against Ezoic and it's technologies leading this to happen.

So that we can look into this for you please can you send over a list of plugins that you have within your site and any caching that you have at a host level and the security plugins as well. In the past one of the technologies that at a host level that used to cause miscounting of traffic was a technology called APO. This may not be what is happening with your site as part of the troubleshooting process please can you check to see if this is at your host.

Thank you for taking the time to gather this information, once we have it all together we can then take a look at this and go from there.

I do understand that real time data is not accurate. But how is the real time data able to get the page views close to the actual traffic and the revenue data is far behind if the cache is the problem? Do they measure based on different metrics?

I do have Cloudflare APO installed and disabling it affects the Core web vitals. Is there a way I can run APO and Ezoic together?

Vionix Thank you for the update, with the real time data it is meant for a window into what is happening on your site and not a true reflection of your sites data and so we aren't able to troubleshoot what you are seeing there.

With the Cloudflare APO I'll reach out to the team and see if there is a workaround for Ezoic to work with this in place. The team are based in the USA and work from Monday to Friday and so there will be a delay while we are waiting for them to return to the office. Heather Thanks for the quick reply. I will wait till the technical team can get back. Meanwhile, can you point me to an article on how Ezoic measures page views. I understand in general; all publishers use Ezoic caching. But in this case, the website is integrated via plugin and Ezoic Cache is disabled. So how does Ezoic collect realtime and other analytics data?

Vionix No problem at all I am happy to help. One of the team have reached out to my message and they have said that with any integration type we would recommend removing APO from your site set up. If you are concerned about your sites core web vitals you can utilize Leap to optimally set your site up to help with your core web vitals.

The data for your site is collected through your sites integration as well as through the ad code on your site and through your Google search console. I'll ask the data team if they have a breakdown of which part of your data comes from which method and come back to you as soon as I can. many thanks

Thanks for the information. Also, when I try to link my Google Analytics account with Ezoic, it gives me an error. I am able to sign in using Google Account but then it brings me back to Ezoic page and throws an error. Screenshot attached.

If you're having trouble sharing Analytics access via the dashboard, you can share it manually via granting read-only permissions to info108@ezoic.com via Google Analytics. In terms of how we track traffic, that is (unfortunately) something that we are unable to disclose.

Our WordPress integration works by making changes directly at your origin server, rather than making changes before the users connect (as our Cloudflare / Name Server integration does). Most caches will interfere with this process, as they will either cache a version of the page without Ezoic or will not be able to run ad auctions, due to caching code that should be dynamic. There are a few caches that work (WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache and WP Super Cache) - but, in general, WordPress integration tends to see a lot more incompatibilities than our other integration methods, which is why other users are able to use caches without it impacting their tracking.

Thanks for help with GA4 linking. What I don't understand is how the real time data is able to get the traffic but the revenue dashboard is not.
Also, is there a place where I can see the Ad impression metrics? The revenue is almost constant irrespective of what page views are reported. So, I am guessing only the page view metrics is reported wrongly.

At the moment with your site being wordpress integrated we are expecting there to be a difference in your page views to what you are seeing on GA4 as it is likely that there is something caching in front of Ezoic preventing us from seeing the page views and from showing ads on these pages.

The next steps to resolving this is to remove the APO from your site and to then integrate via the Cloud - either Nameservers or Cloudflare. We can then wait for 7 days for the data to start to collect and then check your data from there.

Please can you confirm if you have switched off the APO to your site and we can then go forward from there? many thanks

I have updated the integration to Cloudflare and disabled APO. Let us see if there is any improvement. If I cannot use APO, I don't have any use for Cloudflare pro plan, Is the free plan enough for Ezoic?
