Approval timeline / possible set up help

Hi there, I have had one of my sites with ezoic premium for over a year now and recently added a second website (with even more traffic) - I think it has been at least a week or maybe two, and I still haven't had any approval message yet.

I reached out to my original account manager who helped me with my initial setup but haven't heard back, not sure if she is still with the company as it has been over a year since we last emailed.

I went through all the steps with adding the plugin, ads.txt, etc but I may still be missing something? Any insight or additional help would be appreciated!

I have reached out to the review team, to take a look. It can take up to 10 days for review however i can see it has been over this. They should review your site soon and once they do you will see the update in your dashboard. 🙂

The only step left, is to get your site approved by Google Ad Manager. Unfortunately Google has disapproved your domain because they found low value content. Please read through this article which includes a guide for things to check on your site to reach Google's requirements.

Once you have reached all the requirements, please reapply your domain via your Ezoic dashboard.

Sarah Thanks for the response - I read through the guide and made the following changes:

Redid my About, Privacy, and Contact page and added to the main menu
Removed the footer menu to prevent overlap
Removed categories with less than 6 posts on my main nav menu + removed categories with repeated articles
Crawled my site and all the articles are longer than 500 words
Ran copyscape scan to ensure content is original and not scraped

Do they provide any further context or was it just a general "low value content" - if they had specific articles that need to be cleaned up that would be good to know

Im going to reapply now and see what happens - thanks again!

I also noticed my first site is in my adsense, but this one isn't - could that be a factor? or is it strictly related to some of the content pieces

Great work on carry out those steps. Unfortunately Google do not give any detailed information on why the site is not approved. Perhaps leave a few days for the changes to settle and Google to crawl the site.

If you do not have Adsense approved for this site you could apply for Adsense and see if when approved that helps with This approval. Once Adsense is approved you should add your AdSense Id in to your ads.txt file for the site before reapplying for Ad Manager. You will then also be able to setup Mediation if the site has Adsense.

Chelsea_W thanks ! I will probably resubmit next week - I was reading elsewhere that it is good to wait at least 48 hrs after the rejection before reapplying

Final question - will my ads.txt manager ID be the same or different for both sites on ezoic?

On my original site, it is a different ID number in the ezoic plugin and it matches what is on my profile at https://svc.adstxtmanager.com/settings

The new site has a new ID number in the ezoic plugin and both the sites have the same ID on this ezoic settings page: https://pubdash.ezoic.com/ezoicads/adtransparency/adstxt

The ads are running fine on the original site, could this be causing a conflict and issue with the approval?

I don't think this should cause an issue since it is happening separately from the Ad Manager side of things, although that does seem odd that you got a different ID number for the two domains. Had you set them up differently, ie using the automatic setup for one but manual setup for the other? Are they being associated with different Adsense accounts?

Coley Hey Coley - I think the old setup was manual and I had an account manager walk me thru it / they just did it themselves over email. This new site thats having the low value content approval issue I set up with the wordpress plugin and most of it seemed automatic. Also, nope all one adsense, ezoic, and adsmanager account all under the same email. Probably not an issue since the old site is running fine, but figured I'd add it just in case 🙂

I applied for adsense over the weekend, if that goes thru I plan on updating the ads.txt file with my adsense info, and then also reapplying for ads manager maybe 7-10 days after my 2nd re-application last week.

I also made a few more changes to the site and updated some older articles, if successful I can list what I did in this thread to hopefully help anyone else later on.

mt2400 Hey, looks like the site has been escalated to Google for a consult, this usually results in the site being approved 🙂 you can check your dashboard for updates on the outcome of this, it usually takes no longer than a couple of days

Imogen Amazing! thanks for letting me know - I will hold off on reapplying then for the next couple days and see what happens.

Here are a few other things I did to improve the site/content:

Removed the sandwich icon on desktop for the main menu so it is not a toggle and all the links are shown by default
Added in an author bio box and headshot photo to the bottom of each article
Added a byline and category link to the top of each article
Removed a sitewide, static banner ad with an affiliate link from the sidebar
Published 3 new informative articles (instead of the usual buying intent product focused stuff) from an expensive premium writer with industry expertise
Added original photos of the site owner (me) to the about us section
Replaced about a dozen featured images on articles that were stock photos and all over the web with either original photography, product comps, or a few CC2 licensed images with proper attribution links

...there might have been a few more small tweaks but I forget, if approved I will update here and hope this can help anyone else with a decent quality site running into the same issue
