I am shifting my site from one provider to another
I have ezoic running on my site and I want to know what changes I need to make while shifting
I will be uploading all my WP site onto the new server, but what changes are needed for shifting Ezoic?
Hi there - Lindsey here from Support. I hope you're well! :-)
When you are switching hosts, it's important to update your DNS records in your Ezoic account to match those as they appear at your new host. This is because Ezoic sits in the middle of the request chain, between web users and your host, so we need an up-to-date copy of the IPs in order to know where to go to fetch your content and return it to visitors via our proxy server.
You will need to update the full list of DNS records (A, CNAME, TXT, and MX records, for example). Typically when you move hosts the IP address changes, but you may also find the record type does for some entries too.
To find your DNS records at your host you can use this guide: Where to Find DNS Records / Zone Files at your Host
Hosts may also call them "zone files," and they can usually be found in the zone editor.
This guide will help you update your DNS records at Ezoic in a couple of clicks: How To Update / Add DNS Records and Subdomains
If you have any issues doing so, please let us know and we'd be happy to help!
