Sidebar ad size

Hi!

The previous conversation was locked when I didn't have time to answer yesterday.

I can still see the problem after a few minutes of browsing through different articles.

I also just tried via https://screenfly.org/#u=https%3A//corvettec3decoder.com/corvette-c3-side-pipes-1969.html&w=1440&h=900&a=1 and I got this from there as well.

I emailed Charlie Stoever, and he successfully reproduced the situation from the Ezoic side.

It appears that progress on this matter has stalled, so let's streamline our approach.

Concerning the sidebar placeholder, I have set the maximum ad width to 300px (I temporarily disabled the previously active Large Rectangle [336x280] for testing purposes). However, wider ads continue to display, even on larger screens, contrary to my specified settings. Is there an automatic configuration that might be influencing this?

Jasse Hi there, Monica here. Looks like some of the allowed sizes on tablet were too big for the space.
We weren't seeing anything bigger than 300px wide, but these were still overlapping the content.
I've turned some of these sizes off on tablet devices which should improve things on smaller screens. Please can you clear any caching on your site, and then clear your browser cache and cookies and let us know if you're still getting the issue.
If you are please can you specify the screen size you're testing this on, so we can recreate this on our end?

Hello and thank you for getting back to me.

I made adjustments to the min screen size settings and after this I could no longer get a 377px ad on my test machines. However, I can get it to appear on Screenfly or similar screen resolution test pages using a width of 1440, but is this just a feature and doesn't affect real screens?

That looks like you've inserted a 'sidebar placeholder' on the left hand side of the page - is that correct?
Ezoic 'sidebar placeholder' locations are not supported on the left hand side, only on the right sidebar. Therefore, trying to insert any sort of placeholder in a left-sidebar is going to lead to issues with ad sizing and display.

I have added placeholders on both the left and right sides of the sidebar.

After I adjusted the minimum screen settings, it appears to be working now. Do you think I should still remove that placeholder?

Jasse Hi there, you can keep the placeholder if it's working that shouldn't be an issue! With placeholders on the left there may be issues with it respecting the sizing, but now this is working for you you should be good to go!
