Horizontal and vertical overflow on mobile

Certain ad sizes which cover the screen are causing an overflow on mobile both horizontally and vertically.

Please help me fix the overflow problem.

Before I let you go, is it normal for the floating video ad to shift and show at the top of the screen instead of bottom right? Because the one on my site sometimes shifts to the left, at times to the top.

optimist Yes, sometimes this will show in different positions - just to check is it loading in that position and then staying put, or is it moving around the page?

When it shows in a different position other than bottom right it maintains that position for subsequent ad loads. But it's no big issue because if I refresh the page or move to a different page it returns to the normal position.

The change in location happens rarely. It's NOT something that I see every day.

Sarah told me to clear cache, should I clear it on LEAP Caching or it's just on my browser? ( I'm following the recommendation that we shouldn't clear the LEAP cache for the entire site unnecessarily).

optimist Sarah was referring to your browser cache, but if you're still seeing the issue with placeholders on your site you may need to clear the Leap cache. We recommend avoiding clearing this unnecessarily, but troubleshooting or clearing errors is a good time to clear this 🙂

I have cleared the cache, both for LEAP and browser, and I can't see the problem anymore.

However, let me monitor it over the next couple of days and see if anything changes

I've seen one such ad today and it was causing overflow problems on that page.

What ad size is this that covers the entire mobile screen? And can I fix it myself by unchecking it on Edit Placeholder instead of contacting Support every time I see it?

The ad which covers the entire mobile screen is called vignette ad. Those ads are pop-up which show when visitors accept your cookie banner or swap to a different page.
You can disable them in the Ezoic dashboard > EzoicAds > AdTypes. However please keep in mind that this can have a negative impact on your revenue.

If you still see any ad sizes overflowing the mobile screen, you can adjust the ad sizes of those placeholder. The easiest way to do that is using the Ezoic Chrome Extension: https://support.ezoic.com/kb/article/using-the-ezoic-chrome-extension

Here you now have the option to edit and disable specific ad sizes.

I have no problem with the vignette ad, as it is a standalone ad and does not cause the overflow problem.

It's the ones that appear mid-content like the one in the screenshot above. That's an ad inside a blog post.
Is there a fix to the overflow problem without disabling the Large Rectangle size?

And I could be wrong, Sarah, but in the sreenshot I shared above, that ad size seems to have a height of more than 280px? If 336x280 is the large rectangle, then the ad in the screenshot that covers the whole mobile screen seems not be it. Could it be the Vertical Half-Page 300x600?

optimist Hi there! Coley here from the support team, just stepping in while Sarah is offline. From what you've described and the screenshot I do think that could be the vertical half-page size, so disabling that size on mobile should prevent the issue from reoccurring.
