Hi,
This automatic image optimization is very cool, but WepP compression level is too high. People faces looks ironed out. Is there way to lower the level of compression?
WebP compression level

The amount of image resizing varies depending on the size of the image within the viewport. We don't have the option to adjust the amount of compression. I've been checking images myself on the site and they're looking good on my side. Are you noticing this happening on all images? Across all device types?
Images are mostly ok, it is more noticeable on desktop on images with peoples faces. I have tried different levels of image quality settings for WebP on one image from 90 to 40. Only 90 looks like original. Other levels 80->40 looks almost the same, ironed out, but only on those levels you get better compression. With level 40 I get same size of image as Leap compress. Conclusion is that increasing quality level you don't get better image

kowach The images also look good on my end, I am not experiencing distortion to faces on images via desktop. It could be worth looking at potential WebP third party plugins, and seeing if any of those give you control over the level of compression. Just bear in mind adding a plugin then adds other script to your site, so the site would have additional latency from the new plugin on the domain. Or, you could just test turning webP off and seeing how that affects overall site speed/performance. Those would be the suggestions if you don't want to stick with the current image optimization settings
