Web server is returning an unknown error - Error code 520

Hello, Ezoic.

I just want some advice. I tried everything to fix this issue on my sites that are connected to Ezoic platform but it seems like it is on Ezoic's side.

Could you please check why and fix this issue on the following sites:

mauwiks.com
mauamolat.net
relationshipfact.com

Take note, I already tried using my original name servers directly to my server and it seems working fine, but when I reconnect back to Ezoic's DNS or Cloudflare integration, it becomes broken after a few moments. I also tried re-adding the DNS on Ezoic DNS Manager, they are fully mirroring my server's DNS. Please help. My sites are working more than a year and this issue just started a couple of weeks and I feel like I need your help now, I have no other idea how to make this work by myself.

righteous Hey, your site is live and running through Ezoic's proxy for me, I recommend clearing out your browser cache. You can also reach out to your host and request they whitelist Ezoic IPs found here: https://support.ezoic.com/kb/article/116 to prevent any future origin errors.

Really? Not for me. I am using different browsers in private mode and my mobile data which has a different ISP network. As mentioned, I already did whitelist these IPs and I have updated them recently to make sure. I don't know why, my sites used to work until the past few weeks

Which domain are you seeing a 520 for - and is it as a visitor, or when you go to the admin area?

Tucker_P_Ezoic Hello, mate. Thanks for coming in. Okay, let's start with mauwiks.com. I can't really login to my wp-admin area as visitor and administrator. It just shows 520 error. I am trying everything in my power but it seems now working at all

We're not seeing any errors on that site - I've navigated around quite a bit and haven't been hit with an error message or been stopped from loading content.

Can you do us a favor to test something?
Can you go to your site, and at the end of the URL add something like " ?awlekfjalkfja " or "?aweafawef "
Those would generate a non-cached URL, and if you can access the site that way it means your browsers cache might be experiencing issues.

Tucker_P_Ezoic Actually, you didn't get the error because I re-added the DNS of my main domain and the "www". It works for several hours, that's what I'm doing and it is very frustrating to do it every few hours.

Don't work unfortunately. As mentioned, I tried visiting private browsers from diff ISPs and different devices.

The site isn't currently being routed through Ezoic fully - can we turn the site through the proxy so that we can try to recreate?
It's odd that you'd be seeing an error right now since the site isn't actually routing through the proxy fully, that would suggest an issue with the server not our services.

Tucker_P_Ezoic No, now that you're seeing it as "okay" it is okay with me too, which is why I can login now to my admin area. Later on, as mentioned, it will not work. When it fully routed to Ezoic. Because I just re-added the DNS. What I do to fix is to delete the DNS inside Ezoic dashboard and then re-add it which I mentioned earlier and in my first post

Okay - that's not a viable solution long term though and it's most likely preventing us from finding a solution moving forward.
So what we'd suggest is not doing that again, and allowing us to troubleshoot with you.

Would it be okay for us to route it through the proxy to test from our end?

righteous If you're seeing a 520 error in your WP admin area, it could be related to a security plugin blocking our requests. Please can you whitelist Ezoic IPs in any security plugins you are using on the site?

Imogen please see screenshot. and if you notice, mauwiks.com still don't work. And do note that Ezoic's IPs are already whitelisted on my server, wordfence and CloudFlare account. I don't know what to do anymore

I don't know if that's the case because I tried deactivating all the plugins manually recently which is part of my troubleshooting checklist when something happens like this to my sites as I cannot login to my dashboard when I get the error, and once I did, the error is still there

righteous Who is your host? Please can you reach out to them again regarding whitelisting the IPs, the error we are seeing on the site definitely related to your host.

Imogen when I change my nameservers directly to my server, it does work without issue. But just earlier, I am currently upgrading my server and my host is offline at the moment. As mentioned, before I posted here, I've done everything. I am familiar with system administration and webmaster stuff for wordpress. I know how to troubleshoot my websites and server. I manage my own server. The issue is on Ezoic's end. In the past this was an issue as well. Support cannot help until I discovered that when I delete and re-add the dns in Ezoic Dashboard, it works. And it did for 1 year while I am using Ezoic not until the last few weeks which I mentioned in this thread in my first post. Please just give a try to check what's wrong on your side and stop letting me fix what I cannot fix

righteous Hi, I just made a couple of changes on the backend, are you able to clear the cache and see if that helps with the 520 errors?

If you continue facing these issues, you'll need to contact your host and have them look into it. Although you mentioned you'd tried to fix this on your end, whitelisting IPs is typically done by the host, rather than publishers.

nocerinalive You're integrated via nameservers, are you sure its a 520 Cloudflare error you're seeing? We'd really only expect that if you were integrated via Cloudflare. That said, in most cases you can solve these by having your host whitelist Ezoic's IPs, here's a guide including the said IPs and additional details: https://support.ezoic.com/kb/article/how-to-fix-origin-errors

Additionally, who do you use for hosting?
