Ads all over my pages that can't be removed.

I've finally migrated from Wix to Wordpress and I'm trying to configure the ads placement.
Its extremely overwhelming seeing all these ads on the page. As I'm removing it, they repopulate. I intend to only have 2 or 3 ads on this page, but I'm seeing an entire page full of ads. I remember that Ezoic team said that even with all these ad placements on the page, it will only show a few ads at a time. Well...that's not the case, I see a page full of ads that makes the page unviewable.

Is it wise to delete all ads and start over or should I really be just removing it manually which seems to not be working.

What's the difference between "Placeholders" and "Generated Placeholders?
Is the first created by me, and the Generated ones are automatic?

Anyhow, what's the best route of action for this?

Also for some of the pages I turned on Ad Restrictions, but it doesn't prevent video displays on it. For example the root page www.andyhtu.com and https://andyhtu.com/portfolio/

All have ads on them still even after ad restrictions have been turned on. How do I completely remove it?

You can go to Ezoic Ads -> Ad Restrictions / Ad Configuration to adjust ad placements and density automatically.

Can you provide more details? What is the issue is with videos on the portfolio you linked?

Hi, thanks for the help with the Humix videos. That did the job in removing it on unwanted pages. My next problem with the ads is that they're all over the place on my site and I can't click on the removals of the ad placeholders as they're being blocked by something. And when I do remove some, it seems to keep re appearing, so I'm not sure if I'm doing that right. What is the proper way to clean my page up from these ads?

You will notice that ads are popping in everywhere, but I heard we shouldn't be deleting these ads.
Is it also okay to "delete" the place holder over just "don't show on this page"/ ?

Hi there,
You can set exclusion filters from this page here so that none of the placeholders get added to the elements on the page you listed - https://pubdash.ezoic.com/ezoicads/adconfiguration

All you need to do is find the element, class, or div where all these containers exist and add them as an exclusion filter so we do not attach ads there

Charlie This might be a little too advance for me since I'm not a web developer and don't know what some of these mean, but Ill give it a go.
I manually remove it from the page, but it doesn't seem to want to go away.

Is this on the homepage / category pages only?
It might be best to setup an exclusion rule for those pages where the plugin is having a hard time setting up the placeholders.

Seeing too many ads could be a combined result of both that incorrect setup and the AI trying to test at the beginning stages of your journey with Ezoic.

I've fixed the Homepage so that one is fine now. I just set it up to restrict all ads.

For the Category and Blog pages, I can't seem to remove any of the ads manually as it won't go away and keeps repopulating. Currently not very useable. The reason I can't use don't want to create ad restrictions for these pages is that I want it to have 2-3 ads that I designated a spot for, so I'm just trying to remove the rest.

The blog pages are a problem too, but I don't want to worry about those yet until I get the category pages figured out first.

Do you guys by any chance have a service that can work on this for us?

Can you do us a favor and delete the WP placeholders from the plugin? Click 'reset default configuration' then 'clear default configuration' to do so.
Those are the placeholders causing issues and we have zero control of them from our end.
Once you do that, we can help get those ads configured correctly

Just to confirm I did it correctly below:
In wordpress plugins > Ezoic Settings > Ad Settings > Access Placeholder Dashboard Cog > Click Reset Configuration > Clear Default Configuration.

I'm also noticing a "Enable Placement Service Integration. Its off by default. Should it be turned on? Anyhow, please do your magic. 🙂

AndyHTu I'm trying to view the current set up on the site using the chrome extension but I am unable to due to the site not running through Ezoic's proxy - have you made any changes to the site since reaching out in this thread? Such as adding any new plugins, or something related to server side caching at your host?

Imogen I have migrated the site from wix to wordpress and am currently using hostinger's nameservers. Will be changing it back to Ezoic's once I'm done editing some stuff. Should I do that now? Is it what's causing some of my problems? I have someone helping fix bugs on my site so I was holding off on it.

Hmmm. We think it probably would be best to make sure the site is fully setup with Ezoic / integrated for us to be able to take a productive further look.

Right now, the site is showing integrated via the plugin method - it might be best to deactivate the plugin, get the site stable where you're comfortable, and then approaching cloud integration from that blank slate. We can add things in / troubleshoot as needed at that point.

Hi guys,
So I'm not new and have been with you guys for almost a year using Wix, but now I finally got my Wordpress site up and trying to integrate it back. It took awhile for me to migrate the site to the namesevers, but I started today and It's giving me integration problems.

When you goto my site, it seems to remember Wix for some reason, but I've been using Wordpress/Hostinger for a few months now. Not sure why I have a Wix banner.

I have no idea what's wrong with it, but its a Wordpress site. I changed nameservers from Hostinger to Ezoic:

My site has been down pretty much all day even though its saying I'm integrated. It also even has Wix as my background even though my domain name is at namecheap.

PS: I Posted this in the new onboarding page, but it got rejected so I'm continuing this thread. Hope that's okay. Let me know what I'm doing wrong.

AndyHTu Hi, so the reason we're seeing an old version of your site is almost certainly because the DNS isn't up to date. For example, I see reference to wix in your DNS records. You need to go to your host and locate your DNS records: https://support.ezoic.com/kb/article/where-to-find-dns-records-zone-files-at-your-host

Once you've located them, you need to make sure that the DNS records at your host and Ezoic match: https://support.ezoic.com/kb/article/how-to-update-add-dns-records-and-subdomains

When the DNS does match up we should no longer see an older version of the site. Also make sure Litespeed cache is off at Hostinger, as the plugin isn't compatible with Ezoic.

Ethan okay let me figure this out. But to confirm. Do I need to find the DNS records in my domain provider (namecheap) or do I find it in my host (hostinger)?

I've never had to do this before, so its a bit difficult for me to understand. I deleted the Wix dns though. Do you think I should just delete everything on ezoic and then re integrate the site and it will do it automatically for me like it did for the wix site?

The current setting i have on ezoic has 4x (Type A) But I only see one on my hostinger.
I have no idea what I'm suppose to type in here. Watched the video instruction in the links, but it felt kind of vague. My site is back up by entering the ip here, but I think I'm still having problems. Not sure if I did it right or if there are more I have to do?

Let's try and break it down together 🙂 :

The host (current) controls the DNS - their records are the authoritative DNS, and where the site is actually hosted.
Ezoic is a proxy - traffic is routed through our nameservers. That means we need to have exact copies of the Host DNS entered in Ezoic dashboard so that when a user requests the site from the browser, and it hits the Ezoic nameservers, we can then go and fetch the content from the host server.

So - that's why we're suggesting you update the Ezoic DNS records so that they are exact copies of the DNS that shows at your current host.
Here's a set of directions that's worked for hundreds of publishers with a similar question / confusion:

Take your Hosts DNS records (https://support.ezoic.com/kb/article/where-to-find-dns-records-zone-files-at-your-host) and locate the A, CNAME, MX and TXT records. (You do not edit/change these, they are simply the master copy of the DNS used for reference when changing the Ezoic DNS)

2.Then, access the Ezoic DNS (https://support.ezoic.com/kb/article/how-to-update-add-dns-records-and-subdomains) and make sure there are exact copies of the Hosts' A, CNAME, MX and TXT records showing with Ezoic DNS.
-- If they don't exist, create new ones.
-- If they already exist, but have incorrect values, update the existing records (hit the pencil icon next to the record).
-- If there are type A records in the Ezoic DNS that do not exist within the host DNS, delete those records

That did make it much easier to understand. Looks like its now integrated, but can you check and verify if everything is correct?

1.SPF: I did add the SPF as well since I saw it in the drop down menu. (Green). Should Ieave it or remove it?
2.MX: I added 2 MX because I had 2 for it. I assume that each one is for each mail I have? Okay to have 2 there?
3.ALIAS: I saw that there was alias as well, but it seems to do the same thing as a CNAME so I couldn't add it. Is this okay to not add?
4.CNAME: SO now I have 2 CNAMES. The one I added with hostinger, and the one at the very bottom.

Cloudflare: Since I can only turn on Cloudflare proxy with Type A and CNAME above (yellow), should I turn it on or leave it off?
I noticed my privacy section, I'm still using the Wix SSL certificate? How do you change that?
SSL Type, I set to Full. (Whats the best)?
