Drop in traffic

Hi everybody,
this web site is experiencing a dramatic drop on traffic yoy. It had been loosing 85% of the traffic since middle of december.
Is there the chance to get if Ezoic made some changes to the code the website uploads in december?

Search Console is not reporting any isssue or penalization so far.

If there was an issue with Ezoic reporting we'd typically see no traffic being reported, rather than a decrease over several months. A traffic drop could occur for several reasons, are you still regularly producing new value added content for users on a regular basis, or updating older content? If not that would in part explain the drop, as new content is needed for SEO.

Second, Google updated their algorithm in March 2024. The traffic drop off on your site doesn't suggest you were affected by that but it is worth bearing in mind that changes to Google algorithms can affect ranking: https://community.ezoic.com/d/36942-google-spam-update-2024-what-it-means-and-how-to-protect-your-sites-ranking

The CMP wouldn't cause a drop in traffic. The traffic drop coincides with the Helpful Content Update and related algorithm updates implemented since Fall 2023. It's not a matter of site speed but content quality. It looks like you set up many sites based on similar templates.

well i have to disagree as Google is saying that also speed is important for ranking. Otherwise Pagespeed wouldn't exist i guess.

Yes my 15 website has the same templates but different content and hand written in an original way. I don't think similar templates could affect the ranking.

So i'm trying to solve at least visible problems to place my websites in the best position i can.

Hi Tucker,
i agree writing and updating content is the best. But i don't hink 12 seconds to download a page is good. I attache you a screenshot to show you the most part is due to Ezoic. My pages download more than 20 script placed by Ezois. Is that necessary?
In adsense there's just one.

Daffy71 When users visit your site, they can see your content right away. The total CPU time includes scripts running separately. We can assist you with site speed but that does not directly relate to the traffic loss you described. As a first step, you will want to implement the recommendations in LEAP . You also have an account manager assigned to you and you may want to get in touch with him to go over your site configuration (-> log in -> Levels -> Contact).

yes i know content is visible but the point is the pagespeed rating. I have almost 15-20 seconds of time that is not offering a comfortable experience.

Is the re the possibility to charge less scripts, please?

Pagespeed Insights is not used by Google for page ranking - so those scores are largely irrelevant as they don't pertain to actual page ranking or a traffic loss.
The only speed metrics that are used by Google are Core Web Vitals metrics, and those only account for about 2% of all ranking factors (see graph below).

There's no way to reduce the scripts - and as we've noted, they're not harming the ranking and they're not harming user experience in any way, as you can see the content is loading really quickly.
