Hello,

I would like to have a little information about optimising images with Leap.

On Leap I found this setting "Optimises the loading, serving, and sizing of images", which I have enabled. From this I understand that Leap automatically reduces the size of the images that I upload to the site. That is, if an image weighs TOTAL KB, it will optimise it by reducing the weight of the JPG. Is this correct?

If Leap does this, it is pointless for me to have a plugin like Imsanity installed on the site, which is used to reduce the heaviness of images, right? Also, is it possible (I don't see the setting) to go to Leap how much I want to reduce the heaviness and quality of a particular photo?

I look forward to your reply
A warm greeting

    locchiodelcineasta Hi, Leap resizes the actual size of the image depending on the users screen size to reduce the file transfer time. Leap also converts images to WebP, which is a smaller file size.

    Therefore you don't need to use any third-party optimization plugins designed to reduce the file size of images on your site 🙂

      OK, thank you very much for your answer.

      So my question is this. Since I have a multi-author site with columnists who do not optimise the images before uploading them to the site, until now I have been using Imsanity - WordPress Plugin which gives me the option of choosing how much to 'resize' and how much to 'reduce in weight' the images. Can this also be set in Ezoic or is it automatic?

      I have also noticed that if I use Ezoic and upload a 4Mb image, it is reduced but not replaced, i.e. in the Wordpress database I find both the original image I uploaded plus the 'reduced' and 'lightened' versions, but I would like Leap to delete the image I uploaded and keep only the lightened one so as not to take up too much disk space.

      Is this possible? Then I can safely delete Imsanity.

        It's all automated in LEAP. You can review the settings directly in your dashboard.
        LEAP -> Optimize -> Images

        LEAP does not delete the original image files and this gives you more flexibility to revert changes whenever you want. In addition, some older browsers may not support WebP for instance, so LEAP will display WebP images only in supported browsers.
