  • Discrepancy in engagement time between Ezoic Analytics and Google Analytics

Hi, since implementing Ezoic my average engagement time (according to Google Analytics) has dropped off a cliff. I also get similar readings from Clarity. But according to Ezoic Analytics, I still get a 1:30ish average engagement time. But Analytics tells me it's down to 22 seconds. See attached.

I had a similar ad placement before with Google AdSense and it didn't impact engagement.

Can anyone advise why the difference in reporting and why my engagement has dropped so much, might be worth scaling back adverts?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Daniel

Cally If you are getting ~ 1:30 average engaged time, that's pretty good. Your Ezoic analytics are going to be more accurate since they are server-side, especially with GA4 implementation.

You are free to adjust your ad placements if you prefer. You can do so directly through your dashboard (-> Ezoic Ads -> Ad Configuration / Ad Restrictions). This is probably something you'd want to discuss with your account manager. You can get in touch with her through this page.

Mohammad2306 I was hoping to gain some understanding as to why Google Analytics suggests it has fallen since adding Ezoic to my site. Even is Ezoic should be more accurate Google should have been stable if nothing changed.

Not necessarily. It can be different depending on how Google is configured on your site. There have also been changes with GA4.
