Hi,
If I switch my website over to Ezoic hosting, will my Jetpack/Vaultpress backups still be able to make backups of my site automatically?
I'm not sure where my files will be stored and if backup software will have access to them.
Thanks
Hi @fin - hope you're keeping well! We're checking with the Hosting team specifically. However, in the past we have seen jetpack working improperly with Ezoic tools in general. It might be worth looking into a different backup tool like an all-in-one migration plugin for backup - there's one listed here: https://support.ezoic.com/kb/article/wordpress-hosting-app
HI @fin - we've heard back from the Hosting team! " We believe that both should still work, especially if they allow for the creation of manual backups. Can we ask if the publisher is able try the migration and then in the 'preview' option of the process (included below), could they try to create a manual back-up during that state? IF that works, we'd be more confident saying the automatic option for backups with those plugins/technologies would work. We can't confirm without a doubt that it will work, we've never tested it or seen it working ourselves (we've never had our attention turned specifically to this issue). We are assuming that these 'backups' that the plugin is performing is simply just copying/creating a dump-file. " https://support.ezoic.com/kb/article/wordpress-hosting-app
Thank you, TPope.
I'll try switching my site over to Ezoic in next few days.
If the backup doesn't work, I'll look at the alternative you posted.
