Google doesn't use site speed for rankings how it’s shown in PageSpeed Insights and I bet most sites have no idea. Here’s how you see exactly what Google sees and ACTUALLY USES in their rankings
Use Google Data Studio, it's free and it's pretty cool. I'll discuss making Google dashboards too in another thread:
But first, hit 'Create' and then select 'Data Source'
From here search for 'Chrome' and select the 'Chrome UX Report'.
It's the connector that shows HONEST field data (28-day average of our actual user Core Web Vitals). What has usually been super tricky to find, is now readily available.
Once you select the report, enter your origin URL.
Make sure to use the actual origin URL. Then check the box that says “Allow ‘Enter origin URL’ to be modified in report”. This will make sure that you have the proper URL.
Next, you’ll see a lot of fields. It may look confusing but don’t fret. Go straight to Create Report in the top right.
And boom! You got your report. You'll see your big 3 Core Web Vitals along with metrics like TTFB, DOM content loaded, etc. Look for how far Chrome UX data goes back historically for the particular site, select by device, exclude devices – go crazy with your analysis.
