cjones Yes, it seems Cloudflare has been disabled. But that hasn't solved the issue of previews not showing 🙁

Any others suggestions on how this might be solved?

Though it offers much less functionality, you can try switching back to the WordPress CDN and integrating via the WorPress Ezoic plugin. This will allow you to show ads and use our placeholders, but it will eliminate most of our tools, such as Leap.

Would you be interested in trying this to see if the previews appear again in your posts?

JeanPierre Before I try that, there's a strange thing that happened yesterday.

I pasted the URL of a random old post of mine into WhatsApp, and the preview showed. So I tried pasting the URL of a more recent post, but no preview showed. Then I tried pasting the URL of the old post which had earlier showed the preview, but this time the preview didn't show!

Does that offer a clue as to what might be going on?

This would indicate that it is a caching issue indeed. Are you able to test in an incognito window on a PC if the post preview still shows as blank?

Mark_P Still no luck, unfortunately. Same issue, even in incognito windows.

If you disable the Ezoic CDN and any other caching on the site, do you see the images show?

JeanPierre So I've disabled Cloudflare and the Ezoic CDN, as well as the WordPress.com CDN (Jetpack). They can't disable caching just for my site, so I cleared my site's cache instead. Still no luck.

On the bright side, we can now rule out the Ezoic CDN as the cause of this issue!
The next step to take may be switching your nameservers back to your host to see if the issue resolves. This will alow us to be 100% sure whether the Ezoic system is causing the issue or if it is another plugin.

JeanPierre So as not to mess with the Ezoic integration, the WordPress.com support team temporarily renamed the domain for my site instead of switching the nameservers. And the previews showed fine.

Good morning, thanks for waiting for us! So when removing Ezoic integration the previews work as expected, is that right? I will go ahead and reach out to the team with this information to look deeper into the issue and to try and find a resolution for you. I can see that one of my colleagues did mention that you could try using Ezoic's Wordpress plugin to complete integration instead to see if this allows previews to be shown, is this something you would be interested in trying? So the team has got back to me and they believe this issue may be being caused by the Ezoic Wordpress plugin itself. They have asked if you could disable each of the 'Speed settings' within the plugin and see if the error disappears. If the issue does continue to happen could I ask you to try and disable the plugin completely to see if this works? Please let us know 🙂 Thanks

cjones I tried disabling the speed setting in the plugin, and that worked initially. But a bit later, the same issue started up again. So, I tried deactivating the plugin, and again it worked initially, only for the issue to come up again.

I guess I'll try switching back to my host's nameservers and integrating only through the plugin. But in case I want to switch back to Ezoic's nameservers again, will I need to set everything up from scratch?

TheGoodLifeWithIQ Switching between integration shouldn't be an issue, but the only thing you'll need to keep in mind is you'll be losing the ability to use our CDN for caching, faster speed, etc. since that is available through cloud integration only. When you integrate through WordPress, you should probably make note of what is taking care of the caching for your site.

I'm running into the exact same problem.

Ezoic is incorrectly returning images with content-type: image/webp. LinkedIn doesn't support webp, so the images don't show up.

I'm not using the Leap "serve next-gen images" feature. Ezoic just decided to start randomly returning image/webp on their own instead of the original images.

@TheGoodLifeWithIQ I had this problem and got it resolved. I opened a support ticket with Ezoic. They confirmed that they recently started returning image/webp for all Ezoic sites. Because I opened the support ticket, they were able to opt-out my site, so it's returning the original png images again. I had to clear all of the images from the Ezoic cache. After doing that, I can see the images working correctly in LinkedIn.

Note: I'm using the LinkedIn post inspector to request they recrawl one image at a time. These images are cached for 7 days, so eventually they'll all fall out, but I'm fixing the ones for the existing posts so my page doesn't look bad.
