Planning It All Out
I start with my top articles and arrange them, focusing on the first 10, 20, etc.
You can easily do this using 'Pages' in Big Data Analytics.
Go to Content > Pages, in the sidebar. Adjust the time period (the longer the better!) and click 'Run Report', and then export it to an excel spreadsheet.
This will make it easier to record and manage what you have done and how well they are doing, in the future.
I upload this to Google Sheets and add columns like Video Length, Category, Main page, etc. But these are things you can add later.
You might also want to keep in the metrics for "Page RPM" so you can track it and see the impact of your videos on your page and if it improves your RPM over time.
You can use my free Humix & Flickify Video Tracking spreadsheet; use it as is or adjust it, just know that I'm no Google Sheets wiz, so there are no magical formulas in there!
Getting Started: Creating Videos In Flickify
You can use Flickify to summarise your article or use another AI tool. I personally use an AI content summarizer to interpret the sentiment, extract the key information, and reword the article into 7-8 bullet points.
I do this so the reader is getting something related but different and has more of a reason to watch and engage with the video.
I choose 'use a script' and paste the text in, leaving the default settings for Delay after slides, Delay after short slides, and Max sentences per slide as they are.
Free resources such as Canva, Pixabay, Unsplash or paid resources like Canva Pro, Storyblocks, etc, all provide access to stock images and videos you can use to make your Flickify creations even better.
I tend to spend a day gathering all my niche-relevant media and uploading them to the 'Flickify Media Library’ for future videos.
The video is then automatically created and you can make adjustments from there.
Adding Videos To The Relevant Page In Humix
I always take the opportunity to add an additional layer of SEO to my posts, using the meta fields.
I include keywords, a description, tags, and closed captions, then directly link it to articles on my site.
If you are following my strategy of creating a video for each top-performing article, you will take the opportunity to link your upload to a specific page and placeholder.
This doesn’t mean this is the only place that video will show up, but it does create an association.
I also create playlists for topic clusters so I can display those on pages that do not have a dedicated video but are still highly related to the topic.
