I was asked to keep an eye out on how the videos on my site are displaying and to give it until Tuesday (yesterday), then to let you know if there was still an issue. That thread is locked now, so I am replying here.
I don't know what percentage of page visitors that I should expect to also view the video, but for the past 30 days, the first video has been viewed on only 33% of the pageviews.
The second video is not even close. The video was started on only 3% of the pageviews.
I know it's bit like comparing cars to trains, but on YouTube, over the past month, the second video has been viewed 5 times as many as the first video even though it has been published a few days less.
Earlier today, the first video loaded on the page every time I tried to view it in any browser.
However, the second video - the one that was started on just 3% of pageviews, and the one I was having the most trouble with in the other thread - loaded right away in two browsers, and in two other browsers only after clearing the browser cache.
Obviously, I can't prove it because I wasn't sitting beside every viewer when they were on that page on my site, but given that only 3% of pageviews on the second video's page also had video plays, I feel sure that the video is not loading for most visitors to that page. It didn't load for me on two different browsers until I cleared the cache. A visitor is not going to know that they need to clear their cache or take some other action to view the video.
I need those videos and any new ones that I add to be loaded every time a page is loaded regardless of cookies, page caches, etc.. I still don't believe that is happening. It's possibly not happening with the first video, and it almost certainly not happening with the second one.
Thanks.
