AutoSSL failing on my domain

I am getting a message about my domains AUTO SSL failing. I know little about SSL and how to fix this! Is this related to being behind ezoic?
I use AUTOSSL on CPANEL and getting this message:
DNS DCV: No local authority: “mydomain.com”; HTTP DCV: The system failed to fetch the DCV (Domain Control Validation) file at MYDOMAIN.
The system failed to send an HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) “GET” request
because of an error: Could not connect to 'mydomain.com:80': Network is unreachable. The domain “mydomain.com” resolved to an IP address “IP ADDRESS ” that does not exist on this server.

Thad Hi there, some hosts are unable to renew their SSL certificate while integrated with Ezoic. Fortunately, as long as the SSL is still installed on the site after it expires the Ezoic SSL certificate will continue to work and keep your site secure!
If your SSL certificate is active or expired make sure to keep your Ezoic SSL settings to "FULL", if your host SSL is removed completely and there is no SSL on your origin server set this to "FLEXIBLE". You can set this in settings - privacy - SSL.

The email says that the SSL will expire. Don't I need to renew that? Once it expires do I then not have SSL on my site? Sorry. Not up to speed on SSL.

What you can do is point your nameservers back to your host, renew the SSL, then point your nameservers back to us. This should allow your host's SSL to be renewed and functional on the site again.

Well..because I have a VPS they are telling me I need to create custom DNS entries to use.

So based on Monica's reply I can just ignore the SSL on the VPS Host as I'm using ezoics? Is this correct?

Thad Yes, that's correct - you don't actually need the SSL at your origin server to be valid, as long as your SSL mode at Ezoic isn't set to Strict (it isn't). 🙂

Ok. Thanks all! One last question. Will changing SSL affect SEO at all?

Thad Google do consider SSL a ranking factor, but this is only whether or not your site has an SSL certificate. Ezoic will still be providing an SSL certificate and so requests made to and from your site will be labelled as secure. There should, therefore, be no impact on SEO if you allow the SSL at your origin server to expire - don't worry. 🙂
