I'm trying to finish the integration on my .DE site but got stuck on changing the nameservers. The registrar says:

"The Registry of .DE domains requires to have an active zone before changing nameservers for any .de domains. In case the zone is not created, nameservers will be rejected. Regretfully, the DNS zone is not created for the domain name yet, so it's a reason why the nameservers can't be changed."

Could you please help me to solve this issue? What should be done?

      I have contacted my registrar (Namecheap) and pointed them to your comments. Here is the response:

      "In such case, we can recommend the DNS provider as the .DE domain names have specific requirements for the DNS zone file creation.

      The DNS provider (Ezoic in this case) has the authority over managing the zone file of the domain during the DNS connection.

      However, .DE domain names require the zone file to be created even before the DNS connection is initiated.

      For that, we can recommend contacting Ezoic services to complete the zone creation as only they can do that before the DNS connection.

      The reason the DNS zone is not being created is that the .DE domain names have a requirement that the zone is created before the domain is pointed to their services.

      Unfortunately, we cannot create the Ezoic's DNS zone for your domain on our end, only Ezoic services can do that."

        schka Hi again, thanks for getting back to me. To clarify, do you have DNS records already set up in your host? If so, it would just be a matter of copying over the DNS records at the host to Ezoic, as they will need to match. If you can download the host DNS records as an xls or similar file type you should be able to then upload them to Ezoic from your dashboard by navigating to Settings > DNS. You can also manually edit or add individual entries from there as well.

          It's me.
          Still trying to cope with the issue.

          • I took the host records for my .DE from the provider (Siteground)
          • Duplicated it into Ezoic DNS settings
          • Tried to change the nameservers to Ezoic's on the registrar's side (Namecheap) but got an error
          • Contacted Namecheap, and they say the DNS zone is still not created:

          "Per my check, DNS zone is still not created on those nameservers. There is a tool from .de Registry to check whether nameservers are compatible: https://nast.denic.de/
          In short, you need to contact Ezoic and ask them to create a DNS zone properly from their end."

          Could it be that you need to do first some settings on your side? Otherwise, I'm stuck and don't know what is wrong.

            schka Hi again! I do see the DNS records seem to be set up correctly for this domain so I'm not really sure what issue it is that they are seeing. Are they able to provide more details about what specifically they are looking for? We do have .de domains on Ezoic so I'm not entirely sure what the issue is that they are seeing.

              No luck so far.
              Here is what the registrar (Namecheap) says:

              "If no error is reported in NAST tool, then you can change nameservers for your domain in Namecheap account dashboard>> Manage next to domain name>> Nameservers section.
              However, there are errors in the NAST tool. Please double-check this issue with your hosting provider.

              Does it say something about what they are pointing to?

                When you changed nameservers, did you just use the two mentioned in the NAST tool?

                NS: catfish.ezoicns.com
                NS: dolphin.ezoicns.com

                If so, you'll also need to add the following Name servers at namecheap:

                leopard.ezoicns.com
                gorilla.ezoicns.com

                  If you could confirm all 4 Name Severs have been added, then we can check for integration.

                        I see in my dashboard this message "At this time, your site hasn't been approved for Ezoic's Monetization features."
                        Does it mean my site is still in the integration process and is not showing Ezoic's ads?

                          Your site is integrated. That message is not related to your integration status. All sites are reviewed by our Platform Quality Team before they can be approved for monetization. This is to make sure they adhere to basic guidelines. You can view additional details in your publisher dashboard. It looks like you have already reapplied and the review process is now pending.
