  • Disabling third-party videos

I've just adjusted your exclusion rule which should work (no need to put the * character in there, just having your root directory url should cover this).

Try clearing your cache and cookies in the next few mins and you should be set !

Hi. It looks like third-party videos are still playing on my site, according to the attached report from the 'overview' section.

I'm unable to see any instances of this on my end. This may be down to a return visitor who have a cached version of your site in their browser. Have you seen any third party videos yourself?

        Hi.
Considering the number of plays (and that I don't have too many returning visitors) it doesn't seem likely that it's an issue with the browser cache of returning visitors.
I haven't seen any third-party videos myself though, but I don't visit the front-end of my site too often.

Apologies - I've gone ahead and updated a new setting which should only permit your own videos to show on your site.

            Hi.
I appreciate your effort, but it seems the changes only work for a few days before third-party videos start showing again.

TheGoodLifeWithIQ We're taking a look at this for you. Apologies for this, but we'll get it squared away for you and follow up.

TheGoodLifeWithIQ Should be fixed now! Let's check the stats for tomorrow (i expect some plays to show up for the 17th because we're half way through the day) and make sure the fix is working as expected.

Me, too! Nice of you, Harry B, to do it for Irfan, but could you do it for me at poemsforfree.com. And why in the world does someone have to do it for me? Why can't it be just as easy to disable third-party ads as it was to enable them? I've attached a screenshot of a third-party ad at https://www.poemsforfree.com/week.html right in the middle of one of my poems (where I have a placeholder for one of my videos at the bottom).
                  Thanks,
                  Nick

Jan Sorry for the misunderstanding. I had actually looked there before I joined Irfan's post, and I don't see anything about disabling third-party ads. The issue I wanted to illustrate in my screenshot was the third-party ad, not the position of it. I enabled sharing my videos with other sites, but not allowing other sites' videos to appear on mine. Is there any way to disable them?

Since you have 'Engage' turned OFF, that would stop network videos from showing (not instant, need to cache clear and allow about an hour) - see screenshot.
