Hello. Since early December google search console says I have an LCP issue. It disappeared for a few days early January but has been there since. When I check pagespeed insights it says core web vitals failed and gives some suggestions involving leap, but I think I already have them turned on. Hoping for some suggestions on what to do.
LCP issue: longer than 2.5s (mobile)

JimTheCyclist Hey, your passing LCP scores in Leap for desktop, but not mobile. Have you tried following the recommendations being made by Leap? It looks like YouTube is being flagged, I'd advise switching over to Humix.
Imogen I'm a little confused by that recommendation as I hardly have any videos on my site.

JimTheCyclist I've just taken a look and the site seems to only just be failing LCP. Additionally, site speed is only one of hundreds of Google ranking factors, so I wouldn't get too caught up on these metrics and the idea it might hurt ranking. That said, if speed is a primary concern the one recommendation I'd have would be to turn on Leap script delay features and toggle on 'disable ads above the fold' (you can leave the rest of the settings off as you currently do) and this should contribute to better site speed. Do bear in mind it would also hurt revenue, so that's something to consider too.
You can try implementing other Leap recommendations too, like Imogen hinted at, but disabling above the fold ads would have the biggest impact.
Ethan Thanks. I did those updates. Pagespeed insights still give the same numbers. Does it take time for the changes to affect my site?

Can you clarify? Which LEAP recommendations did you implement on your site?
Ethan also mentioned the 'disable ads above the fold' and this LEAP option is not turned on currently.

Google's evaluation is based on data collected over 28 days. It's essentially a rolling average of performance stats, so it can take some time for changes to be reflected.
Mohammad2306 Hello. I turned on script delay and disable ads above the fold. At least they are showing as on for me. Not sure if I have to do anything with caching for the update to show on the site.

Okay, I can see disable ads above the fold now. You'll also want to review your list of installed WP plugins and remove anything that's not really essential to reduce plugin bloat.
I'm still getting the same fail score from pagespeed insights like the changes had no effect. Was I supposed to clear a cache or something for them to take effect?

The core web vitals scores in pagespeed insights are measured using a 28 day average. Your live scores are passing comfortably. You'll see your core web vitals scores gradually improve over the next couple of weeks.
My scores appear to be getting worse for mobile. My core vital score in Leap is down to 62 now. Pagespeed insights is also still fail.
How can I improve these poor mobile score?

JimTheCyclist Looks like LCP is getting a bit worse on mobile devices but you do have most Leap optimizations enabled. I do see you're using Jetpack and Page Optimize - are these plugins doing any CSS optimization? We do recommend turning off any optimization plugins outside Ezoic so Leap can work more effectively.
