Hi, I'm dissatisfied with how the Generated Ad Placeholders are working on my site. I've reduced ad density to moderate and limited the number of ads per page but I still find the ad placements very clunky and they make it hard to read the actual article.

How can I get more control over these Generated Ad Placeholders? Is there a way to make changes and have them apply across all single posts on my site? I find that I'm even unable to delate them in the Ad Postions tab? It's very frustrating.

Hi liza1131 - any changes you make to your ad setup (ad types enabled, ad density, etc) should be reflected on all pages on your site. If you're not seeing any changes make sure that you clear your browsers cache and cookies.

I've just checked a couple of pages and ad setup is looking pretty light for me, like here for example : https://visit-andalucia.com/guide-to-niebla-huelva/ , although if you're still unhappy with how things are looking I'd recommend experimenting with turning off some additional ad types, like side rail ads.

Alternatively, if you have any particular ad locations that you're having trouble with, send us a screenshot and a url and we can take a look, then decide on the best way for you to alter these.

HarryB Hi Harry, I'm not bothered by the siderails. It's the in-content ads that are driving my crazy because it feels like I have no control over them.

      See this page: https://visit-andalucia.com/malaga-cathedral/

      • The ads are so densely packed togethered and positioned badly. Like 1 one sandwiched between 2 ads, or 3-4 lines sandwiched between ads. Also, there are ads in the grey box at the bottom.
      • My ad settings are "balanced" and moderate density. And I'm also added a minmum 400 words between ads but that doesn't seem to be applied.

I looked at my Ad Positions and am wondering if this is because of the manual placeholders AND generated placeholders being applied at the same? Do I completely remove the manual placeholders? And how else can I get some control over the generated placeholders?

      Thanks for your help!

If you want to exclude ads from the grey box at the bottom, you can add a rule here to exclude an ad from being inserted into that div or class - https://pubdash.ezoic.com/ezoicads/adconfiguration

Regarding the ads showing stacked or two in one paragraph, that is a result from having an auto added ad and a manually added one - (image 2)
However, this is actually a good thing. Our AI is designed to test these locations and if it does detect a higher potential for revenue while minimizing UX impact, it will fill an ad in both locations. So it is best to leave these as is and let our AI figure out what the best layout can be for each specific user
