Thank you for the reply! So you turned off "Automatic HTTPS Redirect" in the SSL Setting, right?
I was briefly able to access the WordPress admin login page, but that page was not covered by the SSL certificate. In fact it seems like the entire site is no longer covered.
However, upon logging in I got the message that the URL of the website had changed from https to http. Likely a result of the following code still being in the wp-config.php file:
if($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']=="/index.php")
{
define('WP_HOME','https://yourdomain.com');
define('WP_SITEURL','https://yourdomain.com');
}
else
{
define('WP_HOME','http://yourdomain.com');
define('WP_SITEURL','http://yourdomain.com');
}
Since I want to continue having full coverage of the SSL certificate and don't want the website URL to change to http I deleted the code from wp-config.php which results in receiving the "Too Many Redirects" Error on the login page again and all posts now getting a 404 error.
I checked the database again and both "siteurl" and "home" are still showing the https variant of the URL, like they're supposed to.
