Hi guys,

trying to provision the emote add on for my site. When i click enable, i get a success message and to follow instructions to add, but dont get any instructions for how to add to my domain. Was able to manually log in to emote for my test version and add it there but cant do it for procution through the ezoic way.

Emote doesn't show as enabled in your dashboard. Your site is not built with WordPress?

No, i dont use wordpress, i built the site myself

ok, thanks for the update Ethan. Can emote be removed from my account from Ezoics end? As now when i try to set it up manually, it says an account already exists for my domain.

dq1 I was able to get it working by signing into emote manually and configuring for test domain so want to do the same for prod version but looks like by enabling emote in ezoic my domain is already being used

Sorry, we're not sure we follow.
Where are you seeing 'account for domain already exists'?

dq1 when i try add my domain i get this message on the dashboard: That domain has already been registered. Please contact support if you are the true owner.

You already have the account setup through Ezoic - we're not sure why you're attempting to create a new account in this case?
We've also commented that emote works with Wordpress, and your site is not a wordpress site, correct?

Tucker_P_Ezoic I couldnt see the instructions to configure so i went on to the i.emote.com website to check it out there before you said it only worked with wordpress. I was able to get HTML code for my test site on the dashboard and Emote was working on it. Yes correct, my site is not wordpress but was able to get it working on my test python flask app.

It should work with the snippet, but we might need to backup a bit here and just sort of re-establish where you're running into issues.

What is preventing you from adding it to the live site using the snippet?
Where exactly is the issue right now - is it something within the dashboard?

Im guessing when i enabled emote through ezoic its set up my domain. And now when i try configure through emote dashboard, it says the domain is already configured.

Okay - so looks like the emote account you created shared the same email as the Ezoic account, does that sound accurate?

That's set us back slightly, but we should be able to do a 'hard reset' so that no accounts are created, as well as push a fix for the Dashboard that would allow you to setup through Ezoic and use the snippet method without issue.
We don't have a firm timeline, but I can tell you our engineers are currently working on both issues.

Feel free to check back in with us tomorrow if you haven't seen an update here.

You should be all set now and the Dashboard is updated --- the instructions there are valid, you need to copy / paste the snippet where you'd like to have Emote appear on the page 🙂

If you prefer to use the i.emote.com dashboard vs. the Ezoic Dashboard to manage your emote setup, you just need to login to the website and 'reset password' using the Ezoic associated email address, and you can proceed with the browser version.

Thanks so much for the help Tucker and apologies for all of the confusion lol. Will give this a try now and let you know how it goes 😄
